International Buyer's look towards investment deals in Sevier County. Thompson Carr looked into broadening our horizons for our Auction Clients by bringing in Buyer's from overseas. This week alone we had a couple fly in from the UK to review their options regarding buying Real Estate in this down market. Derek and Sheila Smith from Welshpool Great Britain already own land in Sevierville, on Douglas Lake and are very pleased with the investment. "130% increase in 2 years is a good investment" the Smiths said. "We are looking into buying a vacation home soon" they commented "We can buy a cabin or lot for a fraction of the price we would have to pay back home and actually get some acreage with it". Dale Carr from Thompson Carr Auctions said "We are seeing a big increase in overseas investors, especially from the UK. the current exchange rate is a boom for the Brits and means they can buy a piece of investment Real Estate or a second home in a beautiful part of the Smoky Mountains for 50% of what they would have paid 2 years ago.
